Our History

I would never give up a piece of bread at the table
And if there is also a dessert at the end of the meal all the better!
The Schröder bakery-pastry shop, renowned throughout the Leventina Valley, is based in Chiggiogna. It was founded by Bruno and Martha Schröder in 1963 and is currently run by their son Renato with his wife Crocetta . In addition to bread making, several are their specialties including “spampezia.”

I grew up in a family with several businesses ,(bakery ,camping and restaurant) and always saw my parents to sacrifice to carry on and grow the business.and at the same time raise children.

As a child in the 1970s years I often went to my father’s workshop in Airolo to browse .and watched with interest how they produced the various products.

I never had any doubts about what I would do when I grew up, and so in 1982 I began my apprenticeship with the family business.

I owe a big thank you to my parents for teaching me how to live happily even with so many tasks to do!
